Resources

Welcome to Life In Abundance. We are thrilled that you are considering us to meet your counseling and coaching needs. Our nonprofit organization seeks to provide you with affordable, convenient, and practical Christian life coaching and biblical counseling services. Our vision is to provide our clients a safe, confidential, and therapeutic environment in which to heal. In order to further that environment, we are pleased to offer the following amenities through our ministry:

Library
LIA offers our clients and team members a working library. We encourage our clients to check out any books of interest while actively pursuing counseling or coaching through our organization. In some cases, your counselor may recommend supplemental reading material for you. Check first to see if that reference material is in our library inventory before purchasing. Our Office Coordinator, Noel, will be happy to aid you in checking out your selection. We gladly accept donations of appropriate reading material for the library.

Prayer Room

Our facility offers a private ‘War Room,’ or Prayer Closet. This room is available to our team and our clients upon request. Please feel free to schedule time to utilize it before or after an appointment, or anytime during regular office hours. We do keep a calendar of availability for the Prayer Room, so make sure to secure your scheduled time through our Office Coordinator.

Referral List
LIA Counselors do not diagnose mental, emotional or physical disorders, and as such, refer the treatment of those disorders to appropriately licensed professionals. LIA has an extensive referral list of qualified professionals and maintains collaborative relationships with a number of providers in the area. We have listed some of those providers on our website, under the Referral Partner page. If your counselor deems it necessary to refer you to a counselor outside of the LIA Ministry, you will be given the necessary contact information for that specific referral. In House Referrals
Counselors at LIA understand that each person is unique in their temperament and in how they build relationships. As such, we want the best counseling relationship for our clients. In the event that you meet with one of our counselors and discover that it’s not a good fit, we encourage you to be honest about your feelings so that we may pair you with another counselor within the ministry.  We understand that not every counselor is for every client, and that not every client is for every counselor. It is our desire that you receive the best possible care and develop a relationship with your counselor that is built on trust and comfort with that individual counselor. Newsletter
LIA publishes a newsletter once per month. Our newsletter is designed to keep you apprised of upcoming LIA events and various local events that are family friendly and budget conscious. In addition, we highlight various team members each month so that you can become familiar with our ministry family. We want you to feel comfortable referring your family and friends to LIA for their counseling and coaching needs. To help you know all of the services we offer in all of the specialty areas, we include helpful information in each newsletter.  If you aren’t receiving it, please let our Office Coordinator know, and we’ll get you signed up! If you are not receiving our newsletter, click here to sign up to receive our Newsletter. We also highlight various local community events that are family friendly and free.  Be sure to watch for those highlighted events so that you, your family and friends may enjoy!
LIA Social Media
LIA maintains a Facebook page, as well as a Twitter account, that we would love for you to follow. Please like us on Facebook to stay apprised of upcoming events!
Blog
LIA currently publishes a blog once per month. Our blog consists of brief features on various relevant counseling or lifestyle topics. Our current list of contributors consists of our very own LIA counselors, LIA volunteers, LIA Board members, friends of the ministry and LIA clients. The articles are brief, informative, and typically speak to the reader in a way that acknowledges relevance and practical application. We welcome guest contributors, so if you have a message that you’d like to share, we’d love to hear about it. Let our Office Coordinator know that you are interested in submitting a post for our blog, and we will make sure to walk you through the process required to make that happen. We are actively seeking new and appropriate content for the LIA blog! Click here to read our Blog.
Events

Workshops on improving and maintaining emotional health and spiritual growth are periodically offered as part of this ministry. Additionally, LIA holds various fundraising, fellowship and worship events throughout the year. Our newsletter, published bi-monthly, will advise you of any upcoming events that may be of interest to you.  We also include various local community events that are family friendly and free in the newsletter, so be sure to watch for those so that you, your family and friends may enjoy!

Old Modern & Gorgeous Resale Shop

We are proud to partner with Old Modern &Gorgeous Resale Store. Old Modern &Gorgeous donates part of the proceeds of each donated furniture sale to Life In Abundance. Because of the proceeds we receive from Old Modern & Gorgeous, we are able to continue to be a blessing to women in need.

WINGS Program

Women In Need Gaining Strength is a program offered through LIA, specifically to women who are single, widowed, coming out of abusive relationships, or finding themselves unexpectedly in crisis situations and needing help. Our program helps connect women to local resources who partner with LIA to offer affordable services in the areas of transitional housing, legal counsel, job readiness and placement, automobile maintenance and purchase, computer technology and repair, home maintenance and repair, landscaping and yard maintenance, healthcare, health insurance, personal finance (individual tax preparation, household budgeting and credit repair). Additionally, WINGS offers limited financial help with some basic expenses such as gas and groceries.  If you are a candidate for WINGS, your counselor will advise you and direct you on next steps.

LIA School of Counseling

The LIA School of Counseling offers education and training for Pastors and Christians who feel God’s call to Christian counseling and are interested in earning a Christian Counseling Certification or Degree. The various programs offered provide licensing and credentialing through the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA). These certification/licensing programs should not to be confused with licensing by the state of South Carolina in any way. They are distinctly different and intended for a person who wants to practice as a minister of counseling and servant of the Body of Christ. If you are interested in learning more about the LIA School of Counseling, please email our Office Coordinator or fill out the form below so that we may schedule a time for you to meet with one of our Clinical Supervisors.
